Varicose veins

This is the technical term for varicose veins, also known as varicosities. Varicose vein disease is referred to in specialist jargon as varicosis or varicositas.

We have dedicated ourselves to the topic of varicose veins after recognizing the multitude of problems, and even the many psychological problems of women and men, caused by the ugly, tortuous, protruding veins. However, the physical complaints that occur in the late stages of untreated varicosity are also very important: Thrombophlebitis (inflammation of the veins), variceal bleeding, varicose ulcer ("open leg"), thrombosis and embolism. In the early stages, only the visually prominent vein can be recognized, but it already shows a loss of function of the venous valves, which leads to a reversal of flow in the vein. This leads to an increasing increase in pressure and progression of the overstretching of the vein in the direction of gravity. This paves the way for an "open leg".

Treating varices in the early stages

is therefore a justified measure and - as dentists have taught people - the earlier you act, the better.
